More than a room full of reformers

Four women practicing pilates on reformer Pilates machines in a reformer studio, kneeling with hands on their sides and holding small weights, with a leafy plant on the wall behind them.

What an hour here is actually like.

No one to perform for, no leaderboard, no one shouting over music.

You get corrected

With six people on the floor, the instructor can reach every one of you. Small adjustments are the whole point of the reformer — they're what turns an exercise into the right exercise for your body.

It's harder than it looks

Slow and controlled is not the same as easy. Expect to shake by the tenth repetition and to feel your deep abdominals and glutes for two days afterwards.

You'll be out in 55 minutes

Classes are built to fit into a working day. Park for free, train, leave. Nothing about this studio is designed to keep you here longer than you planned.

Six spaces. That's the cap, not a marketing line.

We could fit more machines in and fill them. We don't, because the reason you'd choose a boutique studio over a franchise disappears the moment the instructor stops watching you.

We kept the full classical apparatus, which means your private program can keep changing as you get stronger.

Reformer

The carriage, springs and straps you'll spend most of your time on. Resistance that supports you and challenges you in the same movement.

Cadillac

A frame with an overhead bar, springs and trapeze. Unmatched for spinal work, shoulder rehab and anyone who can't get down to the floor easily.

Chair

Small, brutal, brilliant for standing balance and single-leg strength. The piece most people underestimate exactly once
